Just one hour from Miami and you’ll find yourself in one of the worlds most beautiful locations.
A district of the Bahamas, Exuma consists of an archipelago of 365 cays and islands and is divided into 3 areas- Great Exuma, Little Exuma and the Exuma Cays. We visited Great Exuma in 2015 for our Babymoon and fell in love wth the exquisite clear blue waters, white sand beaches and the many amazing sights that the Exumas have to offer.
Stand outs for us were the famous Pig Island 🐷, with its friendly and inquisitive inhabitants, the Mile-long Sandbar - a stretch of white sand that emerges from the sea at low tide and the stunning Thunderball grotto, an underwater network of caves, where visitors must swim beneath the surface to enter. Once inside this magical cavern, where parts of the 1963 James Bond movie “Thunderball” were filmed and for which the grotto was named, you are witness to some of the most exotic marine life on the planet and it is truely an experience to remember.
If you would like visit the Exumas, please reach out and we would love to help plan the perfect trip for you.
Stay tuned for next in our list of all time favorite destinations.
Much love and Travel!
