Having received the award for “World’s Most Romantic Resort” many times over, this stunning resort sits on the crystalline waters of Dickenson Bay in northwest Antigua. As a world-class adults-only, all-inclusive Sandals Grande Antigua caters to couples looking for a romantic getaway. Guests can choose between a cottage in the original beachfront Caribbean Grove or a suite at the poolside Mediterranean Village. Whichever accommodation you choose, you’ll find well-appointed rooms with mahogany four-poster king-sized beds and flat-screen TVs. Sandals Grande Antigua features seven bars and eleven restaurants, serving everything from pizza at Bella Naploli to Tex-Mex at OK Corral to sushi at Kimonos. For those interested in spa treatments, Sandals' Red Lane Spa offers exceptional massages and body scrubs. If you’re wanting to be active, as with all Sandals resorts you have access to a variety of land and water sports.

  • The people of Antigua are warm and friendly as are the people who work here. Sandals Grande Antigua does an incredible job bringing the best of the best on site and they make your vacation one you’ll remember for a lifetime.

  • The General Manager is active and it’s not unusual for him to be commending his staff, chatting with the guests and even picking up glasses.

  • The food is exceptional and there are eleven restaurants to choose from; all of which are part of the global dining all-inclusive experience.

  • On the Mediterranean side of Sandals Grande Antigua, the rooms are spacious and have a small balcony overlooking the Caribbean ocean. The bathroom is large with a Jacuzzi bath and a rain forest shower. One thing to note… The Mediterranean Village is set pretty far back from the beach but is only a few minute walk there.

  • The beach is beautiful but not very wide on the Mediterranean side, Further down towards the Caribbean Village it opens up and there is plenty of space to spread out and enjoy yourself.

  • Their Water Sports Team is amongst the best within the Sandals Resort brand and will go out of their way to make sure you’re having a safe and amazing time.

  • The Scuba Diving Team is exception. While Antigua is not necessarily known for their diving it is a fun activity and there are some great spots. One thing to note. Unlike other Sandals Resorts, Sandals Grande Antigua does not have a dock so you do need to wade through the water to get on and off the boat.

  • There are plenty of day beds around the pools and on the beach.

  • The Red Lane Spa is exceptional in every way. We love their lavender scalp massages. If you make this your vacation destination, you must give them a visit!

  • There are Fire Pits with comfy couches throughout the resort.

  • We love the Piano Bar in the evening. It's a great place to sing songs, chat with other guests and make new friends.

  • The resort is expansive and very luxurious. There are sweeping views of Dickenson Bay from the Mediterranean Village lobby, the gardens are well maintained and there are many secluded places around the resort to relax. 

  • How far away is Sandals Grande Antigua from the airport? It’s only a brief 15-20 minute drive.

 

Additional considerations and tips for visiting Sandals Grande Antigua:

  • If you do not have a Butler service, make sure to book your dinner reservations upon arrival as the best time slots tend to fill up quickly.

  • Shade on the beach is at a premium as there are no umbrellas on the beach, only Palapas. Also, if you don’t have butler service you might find yourself getting up early to secure the best spot with shade.

  • Vendors are on the beach but are friendly and a polite, “no, thank you” is enough to send them away.
