# 1. Sandals Grande St. Lucian

Location: Gros Islet, St. Lucia ** Best Sandals Resort Overall

Rivage Travel Ranking Score: 9.0 / 10

Sandals Grande St. Lucia - Best Sandals Resort for 2025

Cost Per Night/Per Person: From $316

Distance from Airport (UVF): 41 Miles

Number of Restaurants: 12

Number of Pools: 5

Golf:  Yes

Private Beach: Yes

Saint Lucia is a magical island that captivates your mind, body, and soul. Here, towering mountains and fern-frilled jungles create a complete sense of relaxation. At Sandals Grande St. Lucian, they've built upon that feeling and have created a resort that connects you with its surroundings, giving you the ultimate vacation experience.

Our number one highest-rated Sandals resort in 2025 is Sandals Grande St. Lucian because of its panoramic bay views and exclusivity; best of all, it’s on one of the best beaches in the Caribbean and feels more like a secluded island retreat.

With over 11,000 4.5 star reviews on TripAdvisor, along with our personal travels and client reviews, Sandals Grande St. Lucian is the best Sandals resort for couples. Featuring more than 20 specialty dining options across three resorts connected by an inter-resort shuttle, multiple recreational activities, and amenities, along with some of the most incredible scuba diving you’ll do anywhere in the Caribbean.

One thing to note. Because of its unique position on the island's northern end, getting to the Sandals Grande St. Lucian can be a bit bumpy by car, and the transfer time is approximately ninety minutes. If this is a concern, we recommend a helicopter tour with St. Lucia Helicopters. Here, you'll fly into the St. George F.L Charles Airport, which is only about 15 minutes away from the resort. Even if you’re comfortable with the drive, this flight to the north is one you’ll remember forever!

"Amazing support! I was very nervous booking but Jonathan worked with me to create a wonderful surprise anniversary for my husband & I. Details I didn’t even consider, he had already thought of. And questions I had, he was quick to respond to. During the trip he even checked in to see if everything was going well. I couldn’t have been more comfortable or relaxed if I had done it on my own. Definitely looking forward to the next trip with Rivage helping us!"

Key Takeaways for Sandals Grande St. Lucian All-Inclusive Resort

  • From the breathtaking views as you exit your transfer and enter the main lobby, this resort has everything you dreamed of in a Caribbean vacation.

  • The dedicated team at Sandals Grande St Lucian embodies the spirit of this incredible destination, making this resort a standout choice for an unforgettable experience.

  • The food is excellent, and there are twelve restaurants to choose from, including our favorite, “The Jerk Shack.”

  • While each restaurant now offers vegetarian options, the culinary team will gladly design customized meal plans for individuals who follow more strict vegan or vegetarian diets.

  • Rooms are well-appointed, and many have been updated. Our favorites are the Caribbean beachfront suites with spectacular views of Rodney Bay.

  • The Red Lane Spa at Sandals Grande St Lucian features a rare amenity: a eucalyptus steam room behind the spa. This room is accessible to all visitors but rarely utilized.

  • The main pool features a swim-up bar, where all the activity takes place. The playmakers are a blast, but if you’re looking for something more relaxed, there are secluded retreats and private pools around the resort.

  • Sandals Grande St Lucian has the best Sandals beach out of any resort in the portfolio. If you’re into snorkeling, you can see beautiful fish and coral around the main pier.

  • The water sports team is amazing, and there is so much to do, including sailing, scuba diving, paddle boards, kayaking, and snorkeling. If you want a lesson, ask; they’ll be happy to help!

  • The scuba dive team is exceptional, and seeing the Pitons from the ocean after your three minute safety stop is a great way experience.

  • The bartenders are a lot of fun and will make sure you’re having a great time.

  • While we think Sandals Grande St Lucian is the top Sandals resort in St. Lucia and the Caribbean, we love getting off the resort and visiting the other properties. As a guest of the Grande, you stay at one and play at three. Best of all, there is a complimentary shuttle service to and from Sandals Regency LaToc and Sandals Halcyon Beach.

  • Sandals Grande St. Lucian has recently added overwater bungalows. These are for you if you’re looking for a unique travel experience! Contact us today for more information.

Additional Considerations and Tips for Visiting Sandals Grande St. Lucian:

  • How far away is Sandals Grande St Lucian from the airport? A: The resort transfer takes approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours over scenic, windy, and sometimes narrow roads. It might be best to consider helicopter transfers for those prone to car sickness. This reduces the transfer time to about 15 min (plus a short drive to the Grande).

  • Sandals Grande Saint Lucian's per-person pricing starts at $315.00 per night. Additional discounts can be combined with the weekly 777 promotion, in which Sandals features seven rooms at seven resorts and discounts them a further 7%.

  • Dinner reservations are required for some restaurants. We recommend making your first one through the Sandals app 14 days before arrival.

  • If you’re in a Sandals Club Level room, contact your concierge to make your reservations when you arrive.

  • If you're in a Sandals butler category, consult with your butler so they can make them for you, as you'll receive priority seats and times.

  • Those in the Sandals luxury room category will be assisted by a food and dining representative in the main lobby.

  • The beaches in Saint Lucia are public, and there will be a fair number of people selling tours. They are not pushy, and a friendly "no, thank you" is enough to let them know you’re uninterested. If you are interested, there are some good ones, including the Simon Says & Joe Knows tour.

  • Guests can walk to the village and to Pigeon Island National Park. You can climb Pigeon Mountain for $7.00, and the views are well worth it. Wear Sneakers!

  • Sandals Grande St. Lucian is our clients best rated Sandals resort. It's a truly unique place to relax, enjoy time together, and make lasting memories. If you're looking for something truly unique, our travel blog "Planning the Perfect St. Lucia Getaway" highlights our recent trip between Sandals Grande & Stonefield Estates. This was an incredible experience!

# 2. Sandals Grande Antigua

Location: St. Johns, Antigua

Rivage Travel Ranking Score: 8.2 / 10

Sandals Grande Antigua - #2 Best Sandals Resort

Cost Per Night/Per Person: From $287

Distance from Airport (ANU): 7 Miles

Number of Restaurants: 11

Number of Pools: 6

Golf:  No

Private Beach: No

Known for winning the "World’s Most Romantic Resort" award by Trip Advisor, this beautiful hotel is nestled on the pristine waters of Dickenson Bay in northwest Antigua and is among our top-rated and reviewed Sandals resorts in the Caribbean.

Sandals Grande Antigua is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort for couples seeking a romantic getaway. It is one of our highest-rated Sandals resorts for celebrating anniversaries, as guests can opt for a charming cottage in the original beachfront Caribbean Grove or a suite in the poolside Mediterranean Village.

Sandals Grande Antigua features seven bars and eleven restaurants, offering options from pizza at Bella Napoli to Tex-Mex at OK Corral and sushi at Kimonos. For those interested in spa treatments, Sandals' Red Lane Spa offers exceptional massages and body scrubs, including our favorite add-on, the lavender scalp massage.

Key Takeaways for Sandals Grande Antigua

  • The people of Antigua are genuine, warm, and friendly, as are the people who work here. Sandals Grande Antigua does an incredible job of hiring the best of the best all working together to make your vacation one you’ll remember for a lifetime.

  • David Latchimy, the general manager, is active, and it’s not unusual for him to be commending his staff, interacting with the guests, and even picking up glasses.

  • On the Mediterranean side of Sandals Antigua, the rooms are spacious and have a small balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

  • The bathroom is large, with a jacuzzi bath and a rainforest shower. Note: For 2025, the rooms in this village have not yet been updated and still maintain the original Italian charm with dark wood furniture and green marble countertops.

  • One thing to note. The Mediterranean Village is set back from the beach but has the best ocean views. It only takes a few minutes to walk there, just past the beautiful pool and Barefoot restaurant. Travel Tip: Go to the 7th floor for an amazing photo op!

  • The beach along the Mediterranean Village is beautiful but narrow. Further down by the Caribbean Village, you'll find the most available seating.

  • Their water sports team is amongst the best within the Sandals Resort brand. They'll always go out of their way to ensure you’re having a safe and amazing time.

  • Antigua is not known for scuba diving, but it is a fun activity with great locations. We particularly enjoy the drift dives.

  • Unlike other Sandals Resorts, Sandals Grande Antigua does not have a boat dock, so you need to wade through shallow water to get on and off the boat.

  • Day beds around the pools are abundant and can be reserved for a small fee.

  • The Red Lane Spa is exceptional in every way. We highly recommend its 30-minute lavender scalp massage, which costs an additional $65.

  • Fire pits throughout the resort are great to cozy up to in the evening.

  • We enjoy visiting the piano bar at night. It's a wonderful place to sing songs, socialize with other guests, and make new friends.

  • If you are thinking about having a wedding or renewing your vows at Sandals Grande Antigua, the wedding staff is dedicated to bringing your dream celebration to life.

  • Photographers are on-site and will arrange a complimentary photo session.

  • The resort is expansive and luxurious. With sweeping views of Dickenson Bay from the Mediterranean Village, you'll find lush gardens and many secluded places around the resort to relax.

  • Sandals Grande Antigua is just a 15-20 minute drive from the airport.

Additional Considerations and Tips for Visiting Sandals Grande Antigua:

  • If you do not have Butler service, book dinner reservations upon arrival, as the best time slots tend to fill up quickly. The good news is only two restaurants require reservations!

  • Shade is limited on the beach since there are no umbrellas, only Palapas. If you don’t have butler service, be prepared to wake up early to claim a good shaded spot.

  • Vendors are on the beach but are friendly, and a polite “no, thank you” is enough to let them know you're not interested.

  • Some of the rooms on the Caribbean side have been updated, and others are being refurbished. Not sure what room to pick? We're here to help!

  • Antigua offers a wide range of activities off-resort. We have rented a car several times and enjoyed discovering the island at our own pace. If this sounds appealing to you, let's discuss it further!

Sandals Emerald Bay

** Sandals Emerald Bay has officially closed as of August 2024 to be redesigned as Beaches Exuma Resort, opening in 2026.

Sandals Emerald Bay Exuma

The story is that Butch Stewart always saw this resort with its larger rooms as a family property but at the time of its acquisition, Sandals had the more prominent brand recognition. At this time, details regarding the new opening date have not been released, but we expect it to debut sometime in 2025 or early 2026. For historical reference, we'll leave our review up until the new announcement is made.

Sandals Emerald Bay is a secluded and sophisticated resort located on the outer islands of the Bahamas. It's our pick for the # 6 top rated Resort, and for those visiting, you’ll find yourself getting lost from the moment you first lay your eyes upon one of the most incredible beaches in the world. In fact, Astronaut Scott Kelly called Exuma “The Most Beautiful Place from Space.”

This resort is a bit more relaxed. However, there are endless activities to take advantage of, and our favorite tour is an offsite visit to the island with swimming pigs. These gentle giants will welcome you at the boat and are so much fun to feed and swim with.

Sandals Royal Bahamian Beach

Cost Per Night/Per Person: From $225

Number of Pools: 7

Golf:  No

Private Beach: No

Sandals Royal Bahamian is the closest Sandals resort to the United States and while there are no Sandals resorts in Florida, it is only a quick 35-minute flight from Miami.

Located on a beautiful stretch of beach in Nassau, this classic retreat is a true royal gem with a longstanding regal heritage. It's a place that we keep coming back to and has become a favorite for my clients.

Before becoming part of the Sandals collection of resorts, this hotel was known as the Balmoral Club, a well-known getaway in the 1940s for the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. In keeping with the Balmoral legacy, Sandals Royal Bahamian’s main entrance and lobby feature frescoed ceilings and opulent chandeliers, while the updated rooms include modern features and spacious bathrooms.

In 2022, Sandals Royal Bahamian completed a 55 million-dollar renovation and is now the best and only Sandals resort in the Bahamas. Here, you'll find 5-star Global Gourmet dining with 13 options, including three all-new food trucks and an award-winning Red Lane Spa. It also features seven pools and complimentary water sports like sailing, kayaking, and scuba diving.

Best of all, Sandals Royal Bahamian has its own private offshore island, which is reached by boat over crystal clear waters. Sandals Private Island provides access to two secluded beaches, a lagoon-style pool, and a full-service restaurant. Who's ready to make a day of it here? :)

Key Takeaways for Sandals Royal Bahamian

  • All butler-serviced categories include a private luxury roundtrip airport transfer in a Rolls Royce or Mercedes Benz.

  • Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed.

  • Butler service is popular here, and we believe it’s worth the extra money.

  • Sandals Royal Bahamian has two large pools. One is the active pool, with live music and activities. The other pool, on the Balmoral side, is quiet and great for relaxing.

  • The ocean can be pretty cool during the winter months of January - March.

  • The beach is not large, but it is beautiful and swimmable.

  • We love the offshore island and the Red Lane Spa that’s attached to it.

  • The private island has an abundance of areas to relax and is not overcrowded. The beach is beautiful, with hammocks in the water to unwind and maybe even have a turtle visit you.

  • Nightly entertainment is not lacking here, and you’ll want to enjoy a nightcap at the Balmoral bar or Cricketers Pub.

  • The Red Lane Spa is quiet and relaxing. We highly recommend having your experience on the private island.

  • Diving is excellent, and for an extra expense, you can opt for an exclusive shark diving experience, which is a must-do!

  • The fire pits at night are a nice way to spend an evening and make new friends.

  • The view from the gym on the top floor is impressive.

  • WiFi is free and has improved over the years, but it can still be but can be a bit spotty at times.

  • Room service is quick, and the menu is worth exploring for those in a club or butler-level room.

  • Two food trucks are located here, and it’s the place to party in the evening.

If you’re adventurous, the helicopter ride is amazing and will be remembered forever! Contact us for more details.

  • The ocean is not as calm as it is at Sandals Grande St. Lucian. It’s not unusual to see red flags during your stay, which makes non-motorized water sports unavailable.

# 16. Sandals Halcyon Beach

Location: Castries, St. Lucia

Rivage Travel Ranking Score: 8.15 / 10

Best Sandals Resort - Sandals Halcyon

Cost Per Night/Per Person: From $226

Distance from Airport (UVF): 35 Miles

Number of Restaurants: 6

Number of Pools: 3

Golf Included: Yes

Private Beach: Yes

Sandals Halcyon is a laid-back tropical oasis on a pristine beach in St. Lucia. Of the three Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia, Sandals Halcyon Beach offers a more personalized, quiet stay and one of our top reviewed resorts. Nestled among St. Lucia's verdant landscape, there is no building higher than the tallest palm tree, and each cottage-styled room features a serene patio overlooking the beautiful grounds.

Because Sandals Halcyon is part of the Sandals exchange program, guests can enjoy the complimentary shuttle service to Sandals Grande St. Lucian and Sandals Regency LaToc. This service expands dining options to 27 restaurants, 10 pools, and 21 bars.

Key Takeaways for Sandals Halcyon Beach

  • Sandals Halcyon Beach is situated on an unspoiled beach set on a perfect stretch of paradise that is both quiet and peaceful.

  • The staff are extremely courteous and they'll most likely know your name by the end of your first day.

  • The food is excellent, and the chef will gladly put together a meal plan if you have any dietary needs. As with all Sandals resorts, breakfast is always a star, and at Sandals Halcyon Beach, it’s no exception.

  • There are two pools at Sandals Halcyon; both have swim-up bars. The larger pool has music and hosts many of their daily aquatic activities. The second pool is quiet.

  • The rooms are well-appointed, and many have been or are being updated. Our favorite is the new Koko Rondoval Butler Villa with Private Pool.

  • There are plenty of loungers available on the beach and at the pools.

  • Fire pits are placed throughout the resort. We love having a nightcap here and striking up conversations with new friends.

  • Scuba diving is available and Saint Lucia has some of the best diving in the Caribbean.

  • A visit to the Red Lane Spa is a must, as the massages here are very relaxing.

  • Stay at 1 play at 3 is a big plus. Sandals Halcyon is less expensive than Sandals Regency LaToc and Sandals Grande St. Lucia, so if you’re here, you can save some money while still enjoying all that Sandals offers.

  • Sandals Halcyon offers a free shuttle service between resorts.

  • While Sandals Halcyon is the smallest of the three resorts, our clients love its intimate, laid-back, and relaxed feel.

Additional Considerations and Tips for Visiting Sandals Halcyon:

  • Some of the resort buildings and rooms are being updated. If you’re looking for a specific room category, we’ll help you find it.

  • Sandals Halcyon Beach typically attracts an older crowd and is more of a resort focused on relaxation.

  • The resort is located off the main road, so if you are in the 700 – 800 block of rooms, you may hear some street noise.

  • First-floor rooms are close to walking paths, so there can be a lot of people walking by. If you want privacy, we recommend an upper level.

  • There are vendors soliciting items and tours on the beach. They are respectful, and a polite “no” is enough to send them on their way.
